How to upload H5P content

Create H5P Content and Upload

One way to get started is by selecting an H5P content type from the examples and downloads page on the h5p.org website. Download any of the example content by clicking on download icon in the bottom left corner of the content.

Now you can upload this file to Our College and use it in your course.

Below are the instructions on how to do this:

On Our College platform’s dashboard in the admin menu select:

H5P content > Add new

Click “Select Content Type” to open the H5P Hub

Click “Upload” tab at the top to upload an existing .h5p file.

Select a file to upload and click “Use”.

The editor will now load and you can start editing your H5P content.
Links at the top will lead you to the Tutorials and Example Content pages on h5p.org for the selected content type.

How to create new H5P Content on our platform

On your dashboard admin menu select:

H5P content > Add new
Click “Select Content Type” to open the H5P Hub

Select “Create Content” and you will get the list of all content types available. Click “Details” on any content type to proceed to the Content type details page.

Click on “USE” and the editor for that content type will open.

Edit H5P content

After uploading existing H5P content, you may edit it using the built-in editor.

Press the Edit button on your H5P instance.
After pressing Edit, you should see an editor like this:

Here you may edit all fields in the H5P. Saving will update the H5P as well. Use “Tutorial” and “Example” links at the top to learn more about this content type and to see some examples of usage.

Add H5P Content into your course

H5P Content created on h5p.org or on our platform can now be embeded on your course or added as insert.

Option 1

Just press “Embed” button below the content and copy the code to your course.

Below is an example how you can embed H5P content on your course

Click on “Embed” link below the content you want to embed.
Copy the code.
In the Course Builder editor switch to Textual editor and paste the code.
Switch back to Visual editor to see the content you just embeded.
Continue editing blog post and save as usual in the editor

Option 2

In the Front End Editor under Curriculum press enter to open a new line, select “H5P Item” click on “Select Items” and you will see a list of content that you have created and saved. Choose your content and upload.
